St. Clair Winefest 2018

Cancer Support & St. Clair team up for Winefest

We are pleased to announce the 24th annual Winefest, benefiting Cancer Support of Deming and Luna County for the eighth year in a row.

Festivities are slated for Saturday, October 6th from 12:00-9: 00 pm and continuing on Sunday, October 7th from 12:00-6: 00 pm. Enjoy a large selection of food vendors, arts & crafts vendors, upbeat live music and dancing, a silent auction, tours, cork pulling & grape stomping competitions, fun activities for the kids, and a wide selection of local New Mexico wines and craft beer.

Admission at the gate is only $5 and includes a complimentary wine glass. Free admission is offered to all active-duty military and law enforcement, as well as those with promotional free admission tickets, although donations will be accepted at the gate.

“This event has continually grown to be one of our largest fundraisers,” said Joanna Costilla, Patient Advocate at Cancer Support of Deming & Luna County. “The money raised has a great impact on the lives of many local cancer warriors. When you’re fighting cancer, the last thing anyone should be concerned with is how you’ll afford getting to your treatment.”

We will donate 100% of admission, ribbon donations, vendor fees, and silent auction to the local non-profit. Last year’s donation was a substantial $9,300 which helped offset the cost of travel for many local cancer patients who often attend treatments many miles away.

“We’re excited to be continuing this great partnership,” said Lora Robinson, Tasting Room Manager. “It supports a great, local cause and we really have a fun time with it.”

Live music provided by local favorite “Caliente” will be featured on Saturday evening, with a variety of other popular bands with a great selection of tunes throughout the weekend.

Supporting Habitat For Humanity With Wine Release Party

Combining the release of one of our most highly-acclaimed wines and some specially-paired bites, we are planning an evening to delight our guests.

“We appreciate the work that Habitat for Humanity does to enrich the lives of the families they partner with,” – Florent Lescombes, President  “We’re proud to be working with them.”

The new wine release, D.H. Lescombes Limited Release 2014 Cabernet Franc, happens to be one of the Lescombes family’s most highly-coveted varietals—and for good reason.

“We received the top award, the Sweepstakes Award, at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition back in 2009 for our Cabernet Franc,” recalls Melissa Landeros, Winemaker. “It’s a prestigious competition and to be awarded as the best red wine out of over 4,500 total entries was huge for us.”

Our release party guests will be presented with a glass of the newest release alongside wine-inspired hors-d’oeuvres selected by our chefs, including pot roast sliders, skewered herb shrimp, garden casserole, milk chocolate truffles, a station of cured meats and cheeses, and more. Guests will also have access to purchase from the limited supply at the event, ahead of the public release slated for August 20th.

“Our D.H. Lescombes Limited Release wines are a selection of the best varietals grown and crafted in New Mexico,” noted Melissa Landeros, Winemaker. “The entire process—in the vineyard, in the barrel, and into the bottle—is controlled and monitored carefully to ensure it reaches its full potential.”

The admission fee of $15 per person is being donated in full to the Habitat for Humanity’s local chapter. We encourage guests to reserve your spot by purchasing tickets in advance since space is limited.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. St. Clair Winery is family-owned and operated by the Lescombes Family and has long supported nonprofit causes in New Mexico.

Teacher Appreciation Week at St. Clair Winery & Bistro

Teacher’s Appreciation Week 2018

It’s been said that teaching is the single most important profession, and we are inclined to agree. Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated at St. Clair Winery & Bistro, from May 7-11. This is the fourth year in a row that we have celebrated by honoring teachers from New Mexico, Colorado and Texas with a 50% discount on their meal purchase during the promotional period.

“It’s our annual tradition to really take some time and let them know that we appreciate them and everything they do,” noted Director, Wayne Moore.

It’s not an easy job—with long hours, always changing standards and stressful evaluations. But educators all over the nation overcome these challenges and make a difference in people’s lives.

“I remember arriving in New Mexico at eleven years old,” recollects Proprietor, Florent Lescombes. “I didn’t know a single bit of English—and there I was, enrolled in Mrs. Saunder’s fifth-grade class at Alameda Elementary. It was such a supportive environment, within months I was well on my way.”

Join us for a generous discount for teacher’s appreciation week at our restaurant locations in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and Farmington.

Deming St. Clair Winery & Tasting Room
As a small token of gratitude to those who do so much, starting Monday, May 7th through Friday, May 11th, St. Clair Winery in Deming invites teachers to stop by our tasting room  and enjoy a 30% discount on your entire purchase—served with a side of ‘thank you’. Just bring your school ID.

On Friday, May 11th, the public is invited to join the free event from 6  pm – 9 pm on our lush front lawn, with live music in Deming.  A selection of local wines will be on special for $5 a glass, while teachers will enjoy their additional 30% discount on both glasses and to-go bottles.

St. Clair urges the community to take the time to say thank you to teachers, whether it’s at the event, or simply in daily life.

“All funds stay in New Mexico and are used to support our mission of making a difference in the lives of those affected by autism,” stated Sarah Baca, Executive Director of New Mexico Autism Society. “We serve locally through legislative advocacy, educational workshops, first responder training, social outings and support groups.”

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that is characterized by repetitive behavior patterns, difficulties with communication and social interaction and is often accompanied by sensory irregularities. Today, 1-in-68 are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder—or ASD. It’s often referred to as an ‘invisible disability’ since a person’s physical appearance is typically unaffected.

“As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum, I’m extremely proud we are able to support this cause,” said Daniel Gonzales, Creative Content Manager. “Not only will this help raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding autism, it will also help fund programs that benefit those in New Mexico who live with ASD.”

The Lescombes family have recently announced the upcoming release of one of their most highly-anticipated wines. D.H. Lescombes Limited Release Mourvèdre has been sold-out for over 8 months due to its high-demand and limited-availability. A Release Party—slated for mid-January—is in the works to celebrate and unveil the newly bottled vintage.

Release Party guests will also have the opportunity to purchase bottles ahead of the full release, which won’t be until mid-February, giving guests the first chance at the limited supply of coveted juice.

We have partnered with Roadrunner Food Bank to donate the admission fee of $15 per person to the local non-profit, which provides and distributes food to local communities across the state.

“Every dollar donated helps to provide five meals to the hungry in New Mexico,” stated Wally Verdooren, Chief Development Officer at Roadrunner Food Bank.

“We’ve paired with Roadrunner Food Bank before and we value and respect the wonderfully positive things they do to impact our local New Mexico communities by helping those in need,” reflected Florent Lescombes, Vice President at St. Clair Winery.

The D.H. Lescombes label, initially launched in 1991, was created by Hervé Lescombes as a way to honor and preserve the family’s winemaking legacy. Named after his late wife, Danielle, and himself, D.H. Lescombes has since been passed down to his sons, Florent and Emmanuel, the sixth-generation of the winemaking family. Along with the new vintage also comes an elegant new black and gold label.

“Our D.H. Lescombes Limited Release wines are of the highest caliber,” noted St. Clair Winery Operations Manager Joshua Gomez, “we craft them in small batches with the upmost attention to every detail, and we are confident that the newest release will be among the best we’ve ever made.”
